Winter Writing

Our adventures in writing continued this week as we tromped through the snow to write in the outdoor classroom.    We all agreed that it looks quite different during winter time.  Students began to notice things in nature and their writings began to include observations of snow, compost, logs and the great outdoors.

One of the wonderful things about Colorado is that we can be outside so much.  Students loved collaborating with friends, recording their thinking and enjoying some fresh air.

I loved the conversations, the wonderings and the great noticings that happened as we got out of the building and into the fresh air.

Our writing goals are:

I can persevere to write the whole time.
I can add details to my writing to help the reader visualize my story.
I can make sure my writing is accurate by checking it for conventions.
