Communities

This week we began our Case Study on Communities.  We will be learning about families, neighborhoods and community workers.   On Wednesday, we had a visit from a Junior Achievement volunteer to introduce us to many social study vocabulary and help us describe and explain communities.

During this case study, we will be comparing and contrasting families.  We are learning about needs and wants.
We will be identifying maps and parts of a map.  Students loved creating their own map and looking for places in a neighborhood.
Thanks to our own Mrs. Davis for being our Junior Achievement volunteer.
Learning Targets for this case study:
I can explain how families are different.
I can compare and contrast families.
I can identify maps and parts of a map.
