I am in love with this article this summer. 100 Things to Do Before You Turn 12
In addition to roaming outside to find adventure, I hope students are taking the time to read great books to include fiction and non-fiction. Some of my favorites include:
Henry and Mudge series
Mr. Putter and Tabby series
Frog and Toad series
Little Critter series
National Geographic for Kids Magazine
Ranger Rick Magazine
What a great afternoon when kids can relax underneath a shady tree or stretch out in a hammock for some reading.
In addition, students should be involved in all kinds of games to help with math. This may include games such as Rack-O, UNO or Skip-Bo. Students would benefit from helping with measuring during cooking, solving story problems you create or counting money to pay for small purchases.
Enjoy the rest of summer and we look forward to having our Fox Creek Crew back in August!
