Farewell to our Grand Friends

 How wonderful our first grade year has been with the addition of our grand friends from Lincoln Meadows.  This was our 5th and final visit.  

 The students enjoyed singing songs and each student shared a poem they wrote to their grand friend.  We then enjoyed a cookie. 

 We helped celebrate Memorial Day by creating a flag with our grand friend.  It will be hung in their facility to enjoy and celebrate this special holiday.

We were so happy to have this opportunity this year to build such a special relationship with a grand friend at Lincoln Meadows.  Please feel free to take your first grader for a visit this summer.  Both the students and the grand friend enjoyed their new relationship.

Celebration of Learning

Our Celebration of Learning is Wednesday, May 27 from 10-11:30 am.  We will begin our celebration by reflecting on our Learning Expedition, "The World is our Garden".  We will meet you in the gym so you can here us sing and present about our case studies.  Bring your smart phone, as you will get to take an audio tour of what will eventually end up in our outdoor classroom.  We will wrap up our celebration by meeting you back in the classroom for individual sharing of our science journals and our learning.  We will wrap up by reflecting on our first grade year and head out to the all school BBQ at 11:30.  Everyone is welcome!

What a beautiful morning with Muffins for Mom.  I loved seeing the joy on your child's face when he/she got to sit with you and enjoy a muffin and share a card.  I hope each and every one of you have a relaxing, family filled day.  Thank you for all that you do to send me such curious, loving students.
